The “Pico” (peak) represents the famous Pico Cuadro, a small mountain with valley views that is unique in the Ribera del Duero area.

The “Cuadro” (frame) represents our winery’s window, from which you can see Pico Cuadro Mountain, that stands out over Ribera del Duero’s plain.
THE GOLDEN MILE
Our winery is located in the “Golden Mile” of the Ribera del Duero region, which spans 22 km between Quintanilla de Onésimo and Peñafiel in north-central Spain. The area is recognized globally for its prestigious vineyards and wineries.
TERROIR

Valdecarbonero. Tempranillo in trellis planted in 1999. The 10 hectares of vineyard occupy a succession of terraces and slopes with slopes not very common in the area. The plantation faces north-south and is between 820 and 860 meters high. The soils are very poor and heterogeneous going from a limestone composition – sandy at the highest levels to loamy – limestone and stony at medium and low levels.

In this municipality to the northeast of the denomination of origin we control a total of 6 hectares divided in 8 small plots planted between 1926 and 1940. Tinto fino with accentuated medieval toponymy: navazo, pedrolanga, robledal, la poza, vallejo la abuela, lausena, Rodrigo and montecillo. The orography is made up of hills open to the valley. The predominant soils are calcareous-stony in the higher plots, passing later to more clayey and loamy-sandy areas as we descend towards the valley. The highest plot is close to 900 meters and the lowest is at 870 meters.

Following the road from Hontoria to the north we arrive at Baños de Valdearados. Important area of small vineyards, extreme climatology and poor soils. With the same criteria adopted in the neighboring town of Hontoria here we control 1.5 hectares of Tinto fino divided in 5 small vineyards. All planted more than 70 years ago. Between 1940 and 1945. Fuente de la salud, taurete, carrahontoria, zumbrin, el arenal. Those are the names of the small plots that occupy different soils and places of Baños. Sand near the mountain in the moor. Franco- clay in the valley next to the village and passing through gravel veins in the small boats opened by old streams.
